The Welland International Flatwater Centre strongly believes in utilizing the Recreational Waterway and its events as an educational tool. Already having an established relationship with many levels of the education system, we strive to create a learning environment and in the field workplace shadowing to further enhance the students' experience.

There are many benefits to choosing the Welland International Flatwater Centre as hands-on experience in the field:
  • Opportunity to spend one-on-one time shadowing a supervisor
  • Establish working relationships with key organizations in the field
  • Hands-on experience in all aspects of flatwater events or music concerts
  • Work on tasks in both an individual and group capacity
  • Valued member of the team

"This past summer interning with the WIFC was an experience of a lifetime. I had the opportunity to take an active role in the planning and execution of the 2013 Junior and Under 23 Canoe Sprint World Championships and national rowing events. If you are looking for an internship in event planning and management, the WIFC is a great organization to consider."

  • The 2013 Junior and U23 champs was the most wonderful experience for us in South Africa. Although our kayak community is relatively small, we are an intense group of loyal supporters. Following the build-up on your website as well as your Facebook and the photos on WIFC Facebook page was the highlight of my day. Not only mine but many of us shared links from early morning. Thanks for the effort and a huge congratulations on your achievement. The live streaming gave many of us goose bumps and the occasional lump in the throat. I checked many comments by parents all over the globe, don`t worry, we are all the same, from Japan, Canada, Africa. Thanks for sharing the wonderful experience. Today I could watch my son`s semi-final on Youtube, tonight we will watch it again and every day I will check Youtube for new uploads.
