The Fearless Females Take on the Recreational Waterway

Welland, ON – The Fearless Females are excited to start their summer off on the Recreational Waterway with stand up paddleboard (SUP) classes, offering weekly sessions to females who are looking for a great way to get out on the water.

Fearless Females is an organization that encourages females to partake in fun and exciting physical activity programming opportunities year round. The organization is most well-known for their service as a SUP class provider in Welland, Port Colborne, and Wainfleet during the months of summer.

“SUP is quickly catching the attention of not only waterway lovers but people who are simply looking for a challenge in the summer or a unique way to enjoy the warm weather,” says Fearless Females Owner and Operator, Amanda Newhouse. “It’s a great workout that targets your core, but really is an entire body workout as you are keeping balanced on the board, increasing your awareness of your body and movements. The best part is you don’t have to have any experience on a stand up paddleboard to enjoy a class.”

Each class is an hour and half, covering safety, proper stand and form, and paddling techniques, allowing for all experience levels and ages to feel confident on the waterway. The Fearless Females offer private sessions, which can vary in programming depending on what your group is interested in. From Bachelorette parties to birthday parties to family get-togethers, the classes promise to make individuals laugh and a great workout. The Fearless Females also provide unique summer stand up paddleboard yoga series, combining stand up paddling with classic yoga poses and sequences to allow for an incredible workout, while enjoying the beautiful waterway. These classes are led by a certified yoga instructor, taking your yoga experience once step further by challenging your balance and intensifying each pose.

Find out why stand up paddleboarding is one of the fastest growing outdoor sporting activities; join a class and experience the recreational waterway this summer.

German senior men’s canoe polo team dedicates gold medal to fallen teammate

Sep 6th, 2018

Germany nearly won it all on the water after losing so much off of it. Only a 3-2 loss to Great Britain in the men's under-21 final prevented Germany from sweeping all four divisions at the 2018 International Canoe Federation Canoe Polo World Championships in Welland.

  • The 2013 Junior and U23 champs was the most wonderful experience for us in South Africa. Although our kayak community is relatively small, we are an intense group of loyal supporters. Following the build-up on your website as well as your Facebook and the photos on WIFC Facebook page was the highlight of my day. Not only mine but many of us shared links from early morning. Thanks for the effort and a huge congratulations on your achievement. The live streaming gave many of us goose bumps and the occasional lump in the throat. I checked many comments by parents all over the globe, don`t worry, we are all the same, from Japan, Canada, Africa. Thanks for sharing the wonderful experience. Today I could watch my son`s semi-final on Youtube, tonight we will watch it again and every day I will check Youtube for new uploads.
