Attracting up to 4,000 participants from 20+ countries, Dragon Boat Niagara 2015 (DBN2015) is a unique combination of two (2) international dragon boat racing championships together in Welland, Ontario from August 12-23, 2015: Pan American Club Crew Dragon Boat Championships (August 14 – 16) and the International Dragon Boat Federation (IDBF) 12th World Dragon Boat Racing Championships (August 19-23). The Flatwater Centre will be alive with action on the water and off, so also come and join us at the FREE Shoreline Market & Expo taking place on the banks of the Welland Recreational Waterway during DBN2015. The shoreline will be buzzing with activity and feature a wide range of businesses: food vendors, beer and wine garden, music, buskers, merchandisers, ethnic and cultural displays, local artisans, face painters, and much more. Visitors from around the world will be highly entertained by the many attractions in this unique setting, while watching the best dragon boaters in the World competing for glory. SPECTATORS By purchasing a Grandstand General Admission Ticket, pass holders are able to enjoy grandstand access, located at the finish line of the race course. To have access to the grandstands during competition days, spectators are required to purchase a Grandstand General Admission Ticket. Individuals have the option to purchase a Day Pass or an Event Pass. Children 9 years of age and younger are free of charge and do not require a Grandstand General Admission Ticket.

German senior men’s canoe polo team dedicates gold medal to fallen teammate

Germany nearly won it all on the water after losing so much off of it. Only a 3-2 loss to Great Britain in the men's under-21 final prevented Germany from sweeping all four divisions at the 2018 International Canoe Federation Canoe Polo World Championships in Welland.


  • The 2013 Junior and U23 champs was the most wonderful experience for us in South Africa. Although our kayak community is relatively small, we are an intense group of loyal supporters. Following the build-up on your website as well as your Facebook and the photos on WIFC Facebook page was the highlight of my day. Not only mine but many of us shared links from early morning. Thanks for the effort and a huge congratulations on your achievement. The live streaming gave many of us goose bumps and the occasional lump in the throat. I checked many comments by parents all over the globe, don`t worry, we are all the same, from Japan, Canada, Africa. Thanks for sharing the wonderful experience. Today I could watch my son`s semi-final on Youtube, tonight we will watch it again and every day I will check Youtube for new uploads.
