Germany nearly won it all on the water after losing so much off of it. Only a 3-2 loss to Great Britain in the men's under-21 final prevented Germany from sweeping all four divisions at the 2018 International Canoe Federation Canoe Polo World Championships in Welland.
Open Water Swim
Open Water Swimming is the latest Olympic Sport. Most swims are between 1 km and 3 km. In a standard triathlon, the swim leg in 3.8 km (2.4 miles). Marathon swimming is 10 km or more. The pace of these races is very fast right from the start. Swimmers jostle for position, then head for the buoys. Competitive swimmers use techniques and strategies to keep ahead of the pack. Many open water swimmers train for triathlons and Ironman competitions.
