IlluminAqua is part of the Waterway's Arts and Culture Series, taking place at the Welland Amphitheatre in Merritt Park.

Get out and about OR a boat! The Flatwater Community Rental Program offers a chance to take advantage of gorgeous weather, take in the scenic landscapes or plan an outdoor adventure on the Recreational Waterway, opening May long weekend and operating weekends 12 pm – dusk during the spring. During the months of July and August, the hours of operation are weekdays 12 pm – dusk and weekends 11 am – dusk.
Rent single kayaks, tadem kayaks, pedal boats, recreational canoes, and standup paddle boards (SUP).Enjoy the beautiful Recreational Waterway for your self with affordable rental rates. Come with your friends or bring the whole family!
Welland Historical Museum
The museum features the history of Welland and the surrounding area, the building of the Welland canal and aqueduct, local industry and cultural diversity. The Just 4 Kids gallery allows younger visitors to explore history through hands-on play and discovery. Featured exhibits include "Life in the Trenches", an interactive War exhibit and "Capitol Theatre" a mini theatre within the museum. The site offers changing exhibitions, workshops, school visits and special events. Currently, the museum is closed for renovations, but will be re-opening in the Spring of 2015. Rentals of canoes, kayaks and paddleboats are available or simply relax shore side. The canal trail borders the calm waterway of the 'Old Canal', providing a scenic display of what used to be a channel for large ships 40 years ago.
