Connecting Community & Building Waterway Spirit

There are plenty of opportunities available through the WIFC to contribute to Welland’s waterway success. From volunteering, sponsorship, and internships to vendors, the WIFC is always looking for new partners to help achieve our goals as a recreation/sports provider and, most importantly, a community staple. Volunteer with the WIFC

Volunteering at WIFC makes a difference in the lives of people in our community as well as enhances the experience of visitors to Welland.

Stipend Program

Volunteer with us, and we will allocate stipend funds on your behalf to a local organization of your choice.

  • For each volunteer shift, a portion of those funds will be allocated back to the non-profit community group or sports organization of your choice
  • The more shifts you take on, the more funds you’ll earn

Other Benefits

  • Each volunteer gets a T-Shirt
  • Lunch is provided for all shifts

There are many exciting opportunities for nationally and locally based firms to support the WIFC and connect with athletes, coaches, officials, spectators and parents.

The involvement of the Welland International Flatwater Centre ranges from completely producing an event to collaborating with other dynamic sports or business associations and groups to deliver high-quality events to simple preparation of facilities for use by others.

All sponsorships and partnerships are designed to be mutually beneficial in creating an ROI for our supporters. Sponsorship and partnership opportunities at all levels are currently available.

Internships

The Welland International Flatwater Centre strongly believes in utilizing the Recreational Waterway and its' events as an educational tool. Already having an established relationship with many levels of the education system, we strive to create a learning environment and in the field workplace shadowing to further enhance the students' experience.

There are many benefits to choosing the Welland International Flatwater Centre as hands-on experience in the field:

  • Opportunity to spend one-on-one time shadowing a supervisor
  • Establish working relationships with key organizations in the field
  • Hands-on experience in all aspects of flatwater events or music concerts
  • Work on tasks in both an individual and group capacity
  • A valued member of the team

Vendors

Events at the Welland International Flatwater Centre provide a festival atmosphere for visitors and members of our community by offering a superior experience in the water as well as on land – that’s where our wonderful vendors come in.
